Jeffrey is a managing partner at Gallatin Public Affairs and draws on a 20-year career in communications, media relations and public policy. Jeffrey manages the Spokane office and specializes in crisis and strategic communications and media training for health care, energy, natural resources, transportation and non-profit clients. Additionally, Jeffrey currently serves on the Spokane Guilds’ School Foundation Board. Prior to joining Gallatin, Jeffrey served as North Idaho staff director for U.S. Representative Larry LaRocco for four years, where he was a liaison for the congressman with constituents and federal agencies on issues ranging from health care reform and superfund implementation to the development of the Hiawatha rails to trails. Jeffrey earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California.
Alison is currently the Health and Human Services Director of the Colville Confederated Tribes, Nespelem WA and has served as the Project Director/PI, Professional Development Training Grant, Office of Indian Education. She has served on the Native Research Network Board of Directors and was a member of the Society for Research on Adolescents. Alison has been published in the Prevention Science, Journal of Ethnicity in Substance Abuse and the Journal of Traumatic Stress to name but a few.
Program Director, University of WA; Clinical Associate Professor, WSU, Dr. Layton is a psychiatrist certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and a Clinical Associate Professor in both the University of Washington Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences and the Washington State University - Spokane Medical Education Program. He earned his MD and PhD in Pharmacology from Kansas University and completed Psychiatry residency training at the University of Washington in Seattle. He serves as Program Director for the University of Washington Psychiatry Residency Training Program – Spokane Track, as well as Medical Director for the Washington State University Program of Excellence in Addictions. Dr. Layton is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a member of the American College of Psychiatrists, Washington State Psychiatric Association, Washington State Medical Association and Spokane County Medical Society.
Tom was the superintendent/CEO for the Lincoln County Public Hospital District in Davenport, WA for 27 years and is currently serving as Strategy Consultant to the CEO and Board regarding health reform strategy and physician relations. As superintendent, Tom oversight responsibilities included a critical access hospital, three rural health clinics, a 78-bed nursing home, regional ambulance service, assisted living facility, public health coalition and hospital foundation. He is currently on the Better Health Together Board of Directors, member of the Healthier Washington Innovators Leadership Network, Critical Access Hospital Network Board member, the Lincoln County Public Health Coalition as Founder and Board member. Tom has served as Board Chair of the Washington State Hospital Association, The Association of Public Hospital Districts, and The Washington Health Foundation. Tom was recently recognized as the Healthcare Executive of the Year – Seattle Journal of Business, 2016.
Rod is the current Director of Church and Community Engagement for Spokane Youth for Christ, and for the last 12 years has served as Chairman of the Board of Leadership Northwest. He previously served as the Act Six Spokane Director / Spokane Director for Northwest Leadership Foundation, which is responsible for the overall administration and management of the launch of the Act Six Leadership and Scholarship Initiative in Spokane. Rod serves as Parent Involvement and Advocacy Specialist for the Spokane Public Schools. He has been involved in Mission Spokane, Leadership Northwest, Leadership Spokane, AHANA and the Spokane Task Force on Race Relations. Rod received his Masters in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Washington State University.
Mike has extensive experience as a healthcare executive in Spokane for the past twenty-five years, with national and international experience before coming to Spokane. He most recently served as President and Owner of Family Home Care & Hospice until its sale in 2013. Since receiving his Masters in Health Services Administration from Arizona State University, he has been an administrator for several healthcare facilities, including The Heart Institute of Spokane. He currently enjoys serving on several regional boards.
Tom is Chairman for Kiemle & Hagood Company, Spokane’s largest property management and commercial real estate company. A licensed realtor and real estate broker in Washington and Idaho, Tom has worked in the real estate profession for 40 years. He joined Kiemele & Hagood Company in 1975, becoming Director of the Brokerage Division in 1980 and full partner in 1987. He also served as President & CEO of the company from 2001 to 2013. Tom graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Business and economics at Washington State University. He is a member of the Washington State University Spokane President’s Advisory Board and has served on various boards and councils in the Spokane region.
Fred is Director of Community Partnerships and On-Time Graduation for the Spokane Public Schools. He has also been a coordinator of Student Services, Special Education, and a high school principal while at Spokane schools. He has a master degree in Social Work and in Educational Leadership from the University of Illinois. He has taught Social Work at Idaho State University, University of Illinois, and Eastern Washington University. He has been a trainer and consultant for the National Center for Conflict Resolution and co-authored two books: Peer Mediation and Creating the Peaceable School published by Research Press.
Mary is the Washington State Retired Secretary of Health. She currently serves on the Providence Health Care Community Ministry Board, Public Health Accreditation Committee and United Health Foundation Scientific Advisory Committee. Mary has 38 years of experience working in local and state government in economic development and public health and 5 years as an Assistant Dean of Students. Mary lives in rural Stevens County and has worked with all the counties in the seven county area primarily served by the Empire Health Foundation. Mary earned her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
Nathan is a principal at the law firm of Witherspoon Kelley, primarily practicing in the areas of land use, real estate, environmental, and water law. Locally, he serves as the Chair of the Spokane Public Library Board and a member of the Spokane Public Library Foundation. Statewide, he serves on the Executive Committee of the Washington State Bar Association Real Property, Probate and Trust Section and the Legal Trust Committee for the Building Industry Association of Washington. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana and received his law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law, magna cum laude.
Gary is the General Manager of KSPS-TV, the PBS station serving Spokane and the Inland Northwest. He was named General Manager in September 2013, after serving as Executive Director of the Friends of KSPS. Gary moved to Spokane in 2011 from Birmingham, Alabama where he was VP of Development for Alabama Public Television, the statewide PBS network. KSPS is the culmination of a nearly 35-year career in commercial and public television, in roles ranging from on-air reporter, producer and executive producer to news director and General Manager. The Philadelphia native is actively involved in the Spokane community, serving on the Board of Inland Northwest Council of the Boy Scouts, and a Trustee of Humanities Washington. He is also a member of Spokane Rotary 21, and a member of the PBS Development Advisory Committee, helping to oversee fundraising policies for PBS and stations around the country. Stokes earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Dayton in Ohio.
Jessica serves as the Camas Path Executive Director for the Kalispel Tribe of Indians. Jessica received her Juris Doctor and Indian Law Certificate from Arizona State University College of Law. Jessica is the Vice-Chair of the Colville Tribal Gaming Commission, a Kalispel Tribe Delegate for the Washington State University (WSU) Native American Advisory Board and Kalispel Tribe Delegate for the WSU Native American Health and Science Advisory Board. She is a member of the Kalispel Tribe-American Red Cross Disaster Action Team. Jessica previously worked as in-house legal counsel for the Kalispel Tribe and the Colville Confederated Tribes and is an enrolled member of the Colville Confederated Tribes.
